From September 19 to 23, 2025, the 3rd National Vocational Skills Competition of the People's Republic of China was grandly held at the Zhongyuan International Convention and Exhibition Center in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. Following its sponsorship of the 1st and 2nd editions, Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. was once again selected as the official sponsor for the third consecutive time. The company provided optical fiber fusion splicers and optical cabling products for contestants of the "Information Network Cabling" event (a WorldSkills selection competition item) at this year’s competition, and offered technical support and guarantees for the smooth running of the event.
With the theme of "Skills Light Up the Future", the 3rd National Vocational Skills Competition of the People's Republic of China gathered over 3,500 outstanding contestants from across the country, who competed fiercely in 106 competition events. The events are divided into WorldSkills selection items and national key competition items. Contestants who excel in the WorldSkills selection items will qualify for the 48th WorldSkills Competition (WorldSkills Shanghai 2026) to be held in Shanghai in 2026. In the "Information Network Cabling" event, contestants from Tianjin, Yunnan, and Jilin won the gold, silver, and bronze medals respectively.
