On September 24, Intel's thematic forum "Empowering the Original Force of Communication, Intelligence and Computing to Shape the Digital Core Future" was successfully held at the 2025 China International Information and Communication Exhibition. At the forum, Intel not only conducted in-depth analysis on network edge products but also invited ecological partners to share wonderful insights on practical solutions such as wireless networks and media applications.

At the forum, Intel conducted in-depth technical analysis on the Xeon 6 SoC and network controller products, demonstrating its innovative solutions and performance improvements for network and edge applications.
As Wu Jinghua, Customer Support Manager of Intel China's Network and Edge Business Unit, mentioned in her speech, the Intel Xeon 6 SoC specially designed for 5G edge and telecom network applications combines the computing chiplets of the Xeon 6 processor, integrating high computing power, high bandwidth, high-concurrency AI, and high energy efficiency into one. It meets users' strict requirements for data processing, network management, and service delivery. By combining Intel Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) and Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX), it increases AI RAN performance by up to 3.2x compared to the previous generation¹, and redefines performance standards without the need for independent accelerators. Thanks to Intel vRAN Boost technology, it delivers up to 2.4x higher Radio Access Network (RAN) capacity² and a 70% improvement in performance per watt³ compared to previous generations. Notably, through the integration of Intel Media Transcoding Accelerator, it also achieves a performance-to-power ratio improvement of up to 14.25x⁴ in video transcoding, providing near-real-time experiences for live broadcast scenarios such as sports and games with lower energy consumption.

The Intel Ethernet Controller E830 provides leading performance, manageability, and interoperability, while enabling simplified design and cost reduction through an open architecture. This product maintains driver compatibility with the previous-generation E810, ensuring software consistency across multiple generations of products, thereby enabling the modernization of data centers in a simpler and smoother manner. The Intel Ethernet Controller E610 embodies decades of Intel's technological accumulation, achieving breakthrough innovations through 10GBASE-T and 2.5GBASE-T connection technologies, reliability, and power-optimized architecture. Both the E830 and E610 controllers adopt a modern standardized encryption security system centered on Hardware Root of Trust (RoT), and comprehensively enhance Ethernet security through device authentication and secure firmware update functions.

On top of the hardware foundation, Intel also continues to iterate and develop FlexRAN software, launching the new FlexRAN 25.07 version in July. On the Xeon 6 chip platform, this version further improves RAN processing performance, giving full play to the advantages of the CPU's 5G-ISA instructions and vRAN Boost accelerator, and supporting more cell configurations and wireless features. While continuously enhancing 5G functions, FlexRAN also strengthens support for 4G with the help of vRAN Boost's support for 4G Turbo codec, better meeting the market demand for 4G/5G dual-mode.
