Nokia announced today a series of leadership changes and the establishment of two new entities – the Technology & Artificial Intelligence (AI) organization and the Corporate Development organization. This restructuring aims to strengthen the company’s technological innovation capabilities, provide stronger support for business growth, and build a more precisely positioned organizational structure. The two new entities will officially commence operations on October 1, 2025.

Justin Hotard, President and CEO of Nokia, stated: “To succeed in the AI supercycle, we need to focus on core technologies to build differentiated competitive advantages through technology; strengthen capability development in security and AI; and fully leverage the value of partnerships within the ecosystem. The establishment of a dedicated Technology & AI organization will be a key asset for us and our customers. Meanwhile, the new Corporate Development organization will accelerate the evolution and execution of the company’s strategy and support various business operations.”
The Technology & AI organization will integrate Nokia Bell Labs, Technology and AI Leadership, and Group Security. Pallavi Mahajan will lead this organization. She previously served as Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Data Center and AI Software at Intel. With deep expertise in networking, software, and AI, Mahajan has held various executive roles, including leading Intel’s innovation efforts at the intersection of networking, mobility, cloud, edge computing, and AI. During her tenure at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), she launched supercomputing projects and led the development of the company’s hybrid cloud strategy. Earlier in her career, she drove the research and development of autonomous driving networks at Juniper Networks.
According to IT Home, the Corporate Development organization will integrate Corporate Development, Strategic Partnerships, Mergers and Acquisitions, incubation activities, and NGP Capital (Nokia Growth Partners). Konstanty Owczarek will lead this organization, bringing extensive experience in corporate development, investment banking, investment, and strategy. Owczarek previously held executive roles in HPE’s High-Performance Computing, AI, and Labs business, where he oversaw strategy and business development (including leading strategic adjustments for the transition to generative AI), as well as product lifecycle management and other operational management matters. Prior to joining HPE, he served as Head of Strategy and Innovation for AIG’s Life & Retirement business.
Hotard further commented: “I am delighted to welcome Pallavi to Nokia. She possesses a rare combination of deep technical expertise, business acumen, and a track record of scaling multi-billion-dollar product portfolios at the intersection of AI, mobility, and edge computing – a skillset that is truly unique in the industry. At the same time, I warmly welcome Konstanty. His unique professional experience spanning strategy, corporate development, and finance across multiple industries will bring significant value to the company.”
In addition, Nishant Batra, Nokia’s Chief Strategy and Technology Officer, has decided to step down from his role and exit the Group Leadership Team on September 30, 2025.
Hotard added: “I want to thank Nishant for his significant contributions to Nokia over the past five years. He led the transformation of Nokia Bell Labs, helped position Nokia at the forefront of 6G technology, advanced the company’s digital and security transformation, and spearheaded the execution of the company’s innovation strategy.”
