BOE Life Science and Technology Industrial Base Opens; Main Structure of Beijing BOE Hospital Capped – Building an Innovation Engine for Medical-Industrial Integration in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region

2025-09-16

On September 15, 2025, the launch conference of the BOE Life Science and Technology Industrial Base was successfully held in Fangshan District, Beijing, marking the base’s official opening and full operation. Meanwhile, the main structure of Beijing BOE Hospital was capped. The completion of these two major milestones not only represents significant progress in the industrial layout of BOE’s smart medical-industrial business but also signifies a key phase breakthrough for Beijing in the field of life sciences and technology. As a key project under Beijing’s "Three 100s" initiative, the base serves as a core carrier for BOE to implement its "Internet of Displays" strategy, support the national medical-industrial integration innovation, and facilitate the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. It provides solid industrial support for cultivating new productive forces in the capital and injects strong impetus into the coordinated development of the health industry in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Leaders from the Fangshan District Government, BOE Group executives, representatives of strategic cooperation enterprises, and guests from various sectors gathered at the event to jointly witness this milestone moment that drives the innovative development of the capital’s life science and technology industry.

The BOE Life Science and Technology Industrial Base consists of a Smart Medical-Industrial Core Competence Center and Beijing BOE Hospital. Featuring medical-industrial integration, it focuses on life science and technology as well as smart health, connecting the entire industrial chain of R&D exploration, achievement transformation, and application promotion of innovative medical-industrial integration technologies and products, and building a world-class health innovation ecosystem integrating medical treatment, education, research, production, and application. Additionally, the base is committed to establishing Fangshan’s first medical device CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) and inspection and testing platform. Among them, the Phase I GMP laboratory has been put into operation, filling the gap of insufficient medical device industrialization platforms in southwest Beijing. Moreover, the BOE Life Science and Technology Industrial Base will provide partners with full-chain services including technical R&D support, achievement transformation and incubation, industrial resource connection, and market promotion empowerment, fully boosting the growth of innovative enterprises and the cultivation of industrial clusters.

During the subsequent unveiling ceremony, the BOE Life Science and Technology Industrial Base was awarded the titles of "Zhongguancun (Fangshan) Smart Medical-Industrial Park" and "Liangxiang University Town Science and Technology Park (Smart Medical-Industrial Branch Park)". This further strengthens its core function in the regional innovation system and lays a solid foundation for the advancement of key projects in the future.

At the conference site, the BOE Life Science and Technology Industrial Base reached a cooperation intention with GE Healthcare, focusing on the R&D of high-end medical equipment to jointly promote the intelligent upgrading and localized innovation of China’s medical equipment. At the same time, it completed cooperation agreements with a number of high-quality enterprises to build an innovation ecosystem for medical-industrial integration.

Notably, at the main structure capping site of Beijing BOE Hospital, through a live broadcast link, guests at the main venue jointly witnessed the historic moment when the last cubic meter of concrete was poured. Beijing BOE Hospital is a key layout for the BOE Life Science and Technology Industrial Base to build an innovation ecosystem integrating "medical treatment, education, research, production, and application", and also serves as the general hospital of smart IoT hospitals built by BOE through integrating medical-industrial innovation achievements. Based on the construction standards of a tertiary general hospital, the hospital plans to have a total of 1,500 beds, with 1,000 beds in Phase I. Guided by the development concept of "a digital and visible BOE Hospital", it is determined to build three core features: "leading technology, digital drive, and model innovation". First, it will focus on promoting the transformation and application of cutting-edge diagnosis and treatment technologies in advantageous disciplines such as oncology, critical care, and rehabilitation. Second, it will build a digital twin hospital platform featuring "secure data, highly adaptable models, and strong computing support". Third, relying on BOE’s smart health IoT system, it will deeply participate in the construction of Fangshan’s compact medical consortium, extending high-quality services to communities and families to benefit local residents.

After 12 years of exploration and development, BOE Health has built a smart medical-industrial service system with health management as the core, medical-industrial products as the driver, and digital hospitals and smart health care as the support. Currently, BOE has deployed 5 digital hospitals in Beijing, Hefei, Chengdu, and Suzhou, with a total of over 5,600 beds and thousands of medical experts. It has formed advantages in disciplines such as orthopedics, cardiovascular medicine, and oncology, and has served more than 4 million customers. In 2024, BOE also put into operation its first self-operated and self-built smart medical and elderly care community "Jingcheng Shiguang" in Chengdu. Featuring "integration of medical care and elderly care, technology empowerment, and shared vitality", it has won a number of industry awards and become a benchmark project. In addition, BOE has developed 6 pioneering medical-industrial products, completed 10 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research projects, obtained nearly 1,000 authorized patents, participated in the release of 8 industry standards, and received licenses for 2 Beijing key laboratories. In the future, BOE will integrate technology with medicine, join hands with ecological partners to build a new ecosystem for medical-industrial integration, and continuously enhance China’s core competitiveness in the global life science and technology innovation landscape.
