Huawei Data Storage announced that the Huawei Data Storage AI SSD New Product Launch Event will be held at 14:00 on August 27 at Huawei’s Shanghai Lianqiuhu R&D Center.

The event introduction states:
AI is reshaping thousands of industries, and the intelligent economy centered on "Tokens" has quietly emerged. The training efficiency, inference experience, and cost of AI have become key factors determining the competitiveness of the Token economy. At the "AI SSD: Accelerating the Emergence of the Intelligent Economy" Huawei Data Storage AI SSD New Product Launch Event, we invite you to witness the release of high-end SSDs for the AI era. Through technological innovation, we will enhance AI business experiences, overcome challenges in efficiency and cost, and drive the intelligent economy from "concept" to "implementation," and from "single-point breakthroughs" to "comprehensive emergence."
Zhou Yuefeng, President of Huawei Data Storage Product Line, stated in the public invitation letter:
The AI era is a golden age for data. As large AI models move out of laboratories and into the production systems of thousands of industries, data scale has experienced exponential growth. Data efficiency directly affects enterprise productivity, and reliable data storage has become a fundamental requirement for enterprise asset management. However, the current memory capacity of AI computing cards is insufficient to accommodate the explosive growth of large-model memory data, and traditional SSDs also slow down the response speed of large models due to performance limitations, thereby restricting the experience of AI applications.
The intelligent era calls for a revolution in storage medium application innovation. We sincerely invite you to attend the "AI SSD: Accelerating the Emergence of the Intelligent Economy" Huawei Data Storage AI SSD New Product Launch Event to be held in Shanghai on August 27. Together, we will witness the release of high-end SSDs for the AI era, enhance AI business experiences through technological innovation, overcome challenges in efficiency and cost, and drive the intelligent economy from "concept" to "implementation," and from "single-point breakthroughs" to "comprehensive emergence."
It can be seen that the two paragraphs above both mention AI computing workloads, and the second one further emphasizes the current memory capacity bottleneck of DRAM-based AI computing cards. The upcoming AI SSD solid-state drive to be released by Huawei is expected to support memory expansion of AI computing cards, thereby improving AI computing performance.
In terms of such design ideas, SanDisk has proposed the HBF concept (supported by SK Hynix), Phison has launched the aiDAPTIV+ solution, and Kioxia has also demonstrated high-bandwidth modules with PCIe interfaces.
