2025-08-22

The Amazon Web Services "AI in the Future" Summer Challenge Camp, also known as the 2025 Summer Camp, was successfully held in Yinchuan, Ningxia, from August 17 to 20. During this year’s camp, 40 outstanding student representatives from schools that have continuously participated in the "AI in the Future" public welfare program over the past year gathered with volunteers from Amazon Web Services and its developer community. Through diverse activities such as the Amazon DeepRacer autonomous racing challenge, cutting-edge technology practices, and industry expert sharing sessions, the students gained an international perspective and comprehensively enhanced their scientific literacy and innovative potential. Since the launch of the Amazon Web Services "AI in the Future" public welfare program, it has received positive feedback from many beneficiary schools. Therefore, in the 2024-2025 academic year, Amazon Web Services continues to provide one year of support to schools that completed the program in the first three years and wish to use program resources to offer related courses and practical activities. To date, 23 schools from Guangxi, Ningxia, Yunnan, Guizhou, and other regions, involving over 1,300 students, have actively participated in the program this academic year, learning cutting-edge scientific knowledge to lay the foundation for realizing their technological dreams.

The "AI in the Future" public welfare program is a collaboration between Amazon Web Services and the China Guanghua Science and Technology Foundation. It is built on Amazon Web Services’ learning tool, Amazon DeepRacer autonomous racing car, and leverages the foundation’s strengths in social mobilization and project-based promotion to enhance the quality and capabilities of teenagers in central and western China in emerging technologies. As of this year, the "AI in the Future" public welfare program summer camp has been successfully held for three sessions. Through technical training courses, practical guidance on Amazon DeepRacer autonomous racing, offline public welfare competitions, and summer study tours, students have deepened their understanding and application of science and technology, advancing from recognizing technology to applying it, and growing into technical talents with ideals and responsibilities.

Award Ceremony of "AI in the Future" DeepRacer Track Hero Challenge Day

On the basis of the regular Amazon DeepRacer offline competition, this year’s summer challenge camp added an advanced training camp that combines technical concept learning with practical operations. Technical experts from Amazon Web Services and volunteer teams from the developer community not only provided students with face-to-face professional technical guidance but also helped them use Amazon Web Services’ generative AI tools such as Amazon Q Developer to create a series of creative solutions, enhancing the students’ ability to solve real-life problems with technology. Among them, the student representative team from Helan No. 1 Middle School developed "intelligent emotional emojis," which use AI to identify users’ emotions and automatically generate or recommend corresponding emojis, solving problems such as distorted emotional transmission and low interaction efficiency in previous communication. The student representative team from Bijie Ethnic Middle School developed a "stress index self-assessment system," which uses AI technology to help users of all ages evaluate their emotional stress levels, thereby optimizing their work and life rhythms.
