Per Omdia’s latest research released on June 5, the market size of OLED display panels for notebooks is projected to expand to USD 11.5 billion by 2033, accounting for roughly 16.2% of total OLED display revenue.

The research institute forecasts that revenue from notebook OLED panels will reach USD 4 billion in 2026, predominantly driven by robust demand for Apple’s MacBook Pro lineup. Starting from July 2026, Samsung Display will supply OLED panels for Apple’s 14.3-inch and 16.3-inch MacBook Pro models, with the corresponding new-product rollout scheduled for Q3 2026.
Omdia noted that over the past decade, the bulk of OLED panels deployed in notebooks adopt rigid OLED technology with technical specifications comparable to mid-range smartphone OLED solutions. Driven by projected rising OLED uptake across IT products including tablets and laptops, panel manufacturers are ramping up capital spending on 8.6th-generation (Gen 8.6) production capacity and deploying diverse fabrication technologies such as LTPO and oxide TFT. To boost manufacturing efficiency for large-sized OLED products, suppliers are developing novel patterning processes including Inkjet Printing (IJP) and Fine Pattern Mask (FPM), alongside the well-established Fine Metal Mask (FMM) technology.
Looking ahead, Omdia projects hybrid OLED’s shipment proportion within the notebook OLED segment will rise from 12.6% in 2026 to 89.5% by 2033.
